TTTE #7: Miscellaneous Engines - 1

Description

TOP: Mavis & Stepney
MIDDLE: Harvey & Fergus
BOTTOM: Emily

One engine is a diesel.
Two engines are from The Railway Series.
Three engines made it into the CGI Series.
Four engines have their names written on their sides.
Five engines that have no true connections with each other.

Had to do quite a bit of readjusting with Mavis' cab and side plates. I adore her for the same reason as Sir Handel. She was young, arrogant and stubborn in her debut, but later on changed into a nurturing, old and wise engine.

I know it’s unlikely, but I have a feeling that Stepney might have some purpose if he returned to the CGI series.

It was difficult to draw Fergus; not many sprites showed his right side and his television series model didn’t accurately replicate his basis. I had to resort to finding photographs and videos of the ‘Blue Circle' (Fergus' basis).

Credit goes to Cj-The-Creator's sprite list and Princess-Muffins's individual sprites.

UPDATE 12/4/20: Many many apologies for the huge time gap! So glad I was able to get back into it finally! This bunch of engines stayed half done for almost a year until COVID-19 gave me a chance to retain this hobby.

For Mavis - Gave her the proper side plates and stripes. Added the lamps and an external horn.

For Stepney - Turned him into the real ‘Stepney’. Gave him sandboxes, external brakes, lamp irons, buffers and cab design.

For Harvey - I made him look more like the Dübs crane engine. It took a lot of patience to draw the crane, gears, hook and chain.

For Fergus - I fixed him up properly this time. His earlier design looked messy, but after seeing better footage of the ‘Blue Circle’, I could add and realign the essential components.

For Emily - She got the ‘Stirling Single’ beauty treatment. Main difference was the design of her running board. I also integrated the banding design on her real tender and her TVS tender. And I reckon Emily looks heaps better with the wraparound handrail.

UPDATE 8/3/22: Simply replaced Emily's No. 1 for the number 12 that she was rightfully given at the end of the show.
